In stead of pitting the kids against me and my wife I'd rather keep some peace. I also have been planting seeds of doubt in my son already. I will continue to do so. But I will start having other activities ready when meeting and service time comes around. He loves to go bowling. Its a a start. Take it easy on the criticisim. Im new at this and by saying Im lazy was a poor choice of words. I will however start making it harder for them to choose between meetings and fun time with me. I remember how frustratingly borring the meetings were for little ones and am counting on that for them.

leavingwt - I have considered that. Being the head of the house and not letting them go. I'm just a little lazy and love my time away from them.

should i help my wife get the kids ready for meetings, service and assemblies?
Should I help my wife get the kids ready for meetings, service and assemblies? I haven’t been to a meeting in about 11 months and she knows I never will be back. She will give me their clothes and ask me to help get them ready for their meetings. Part of me wants to tell he “No, I don’t want to have anything to do with helping them get to the meetings.” But I also don’t want to strengthen her resolve to be a stronger witness. We have a 2 month old and a 3 year old. I don’t think she will ever open her mind to the possibility that JWs have it all wrong. We have had many conversations on what I’ve discovered. She is strong in her resolve to stay in. But I don’t want to ruin my chance at helping her to see TTATT. It doesn’t really bother me to help. What do you think? Kill her with kindness or be stubborn and not help?
Thanks Dazed
here are a few examples of what i overlooked for so long:.
1. the watchtower often praised rutherford's 1918 talk "millions now living will never die.
" however, everyone who had ever heard that talk was dead.. 2. the governing body urges the placement of the watchtower's "bible" literature with strangers.
As long as a JW even thinks this MIGHT be true, he or she will ignore a lot of warning signs and suppress a lot of doubts.
Exactly Ding. couldnt say it any better

Are you kidding? We are ....uhh....were surrounded by such a great "cloud of witnesses" all drinking from the same tainted fountain of "truth"
I wish my wife would take the vail away from her face and see what i see... what we all now see.
I was very happy in my ignorance. but i wouldnt trade knowing what i know now
i have.. i hadn't even realised it until i had a conversation with my brother last summer.
our dad was a proffesional man who could command a good income whilst he worked.
trouble is, that he would listen to all the 1975 "end of the system" nonesense and then become motivated to serve where the need was great.
we're you always in the back room with the elders?.
Yes. I was baptized at 13 and at abt 15 was in my first for telling a punk ass kid that was studying to "f*ck off" He was a rat that was just looking for a fight.
then at 17 for making out with a girl. they asked if there was any other "physical" contact and i said yes. they wanted details... under or over the shirt... under or over the bra... it was under it all but i was scared and told em over the shirt. (didnt know abt the 2 witness thing)
then again at abt 19 or 20 for under age drinking and huffing gas with other witness friends when we were 17 or so. my friends consciences got the better of them and they told their elders. then those elders got a hold of my elders (i had moved abt 4 hrs away) they said because i wasn't doing it any more and i was repentant they would let it go as long as i kept my nose clean. then my last one was a JC where i was publicly reproved for drunkeness. I went to them for help and all i got was a slap on the hand and that embarrassing anouncement....but it woke me up to TTATT
